Xbox Rrod Fix

Xbox 360 No Picture / Video Problem

by Lee on June 27, 2011

Screen went black while playing, then turned to this pink-strobe kind of effect on the TV. None of the other games work, and I can’t even see the dashboard. I can hear audio though. UPDATED: Did the towel trick and it now works fine!! Try it!!
Video Rating: 4 / 5

both of these me and my friend tried and they worked!

For people having problems with this using HDMI there is a slide on the HDMI that you can push if you have a very slim object. I had the exact problem and just switched it and now it works.

It’s probably your TV

ArtDamage911 June 27, 2011 at 6:14 am

@ArtDamage911 oops… i mean x-clamp, not c-clamp :x

ArtDamage911 June 27, 2011 at 7:07 am

@GermanChocolate94 try x-clamp repair kit. search for it on ebay. it usually costs $2-$20. make sure you get a kit with thermal paste. Also, make sure that your warranty has expired and you have done everything you can with MS support before attempting a hardware fix such as the c-clamp fix.

Theres videos on youtube that give you a step by step on repairing your xbox 360. This is only a suggestion as you can easily screw your system up even more if done improperly

IMO its worth $3 to try.

People just to update you all. There are some issues with xbox users who think they can use their Xbox 360′s on all HDTV resolution tv’s. You can’t.. The 360 is set specifially to use 1080 HD resolutions.1400×900 can still achieve this no problem. But anything below that & the cable cannot put the correct pixel image on the screen & basically the tv overloads the data & it overloads the xbox. Point blank if you have a HDTV that is not upto 1080 compatible, use tv instead or you’ll get this fault.

It’s not the cable, check out the video…..Xbox 360 no video how to fix : part 1……(by scottycd)

MS make crappy products, it’s that simple!

ownman420 June 27, 2011 at 3:35 pm

@brokenroses22 no its a short term fix. you might have to do it again at some point.

brokenroses22 June 27, 2011 at 4:27 pm

This does cause the xbox to create for bigger issues.

koof4 June 27, 2011 at 5:15 pm

yea, i had the open disc tray error i was following the steps that Microsoft had to fix it, one said to start up the console without a hard drive in, and after i did that no more picture. and some extra info is that i have always used hdmi on the xbox and it has always stood upright
