Screen went black while playing, then turned to this pink-strobe kind of effect on the TV. None of the other games work, and I can’t even see the dashboard. I can hear audio though. UPDATED: Did the towel trick and it now works fine!! Try it!!
Video Rating: 4 / 5

For people having problems with this using HDMI there is a slide on the HDMI that you can push if you have a very slim object. I had the exact problem and just switched it and now it works.
wtf that is wierd never heard of that before.
@daveLFCfan2 it didnt work for me
next time it happens, try this it worked for me, turn on xbox and streight away press and hold the rt and y buttons at the same time, it sets the resolution to its default settings
thats what happened to mine
It’s probably your TV
@ArtDamage911 oops… i mean x-clamp, not c-clamp
@GermanChocolate94 try x-clamp repair kit. search for it on ebay. it usually costs $2-$20. make sure you get a kit with thermal paste. Also, make sure that your warranty has expired and you have done everything you can with MS support before attempting a hardware fix such as the c-clamp fix.
Theres videos on youtube that give you a step by step on repairing your xbox 360. This is only a suggestion as you can easily screw your system up even more if done improperly
IMO its worth $3 to try.
People just to update you all. There are some issues with xbox users who think they can use their Xbox 360′s on all HDTV resolution tv’s. You can’t.. The 360 is set specifially to use 1080 HD resolutions.1400×900 can still achieve this no problem.But anything below that & the cable cannot put the correct pixel image on the screen & basically the tv overloads the data & it overloads the xbox. Point blank if you have a HDTV that is not upto 1080 compatible,use tv instead or you’ll get this fault.
It’s not the cable, check out the video…..Xbox 360 no video how to fix : part 1……(by scottycd)
MS make crappy products, it’s that simple!
@duceman11
bad idea xD
what do u do though, im doing the towel and do i just keep doing it till the screen works or what
take it off hd and it will work fine happened to me too i get 4 red rings w/e i try to play cod mw2 on hd now
dnt depend all on dat tho if u connect ur xbox to and hdtv screen and leave it on anything dat is not the 480 and u reconnect it on a non hdtv screen it will also give u this problem!!!! u need to go bak to any hdtv and change settings
tell me true…. does it work… because i have an xbox, no warranty, audio no video… so does it really work… dont care if it works for 2 days and does it again,does it work????
Yeah you can do the towel trick, but eventually this will happen again.
Just had this happened to me !!!!!! came on to see if it fixable or is just an error or what but now everytime i go on game it plays for abit then does this
same with me man i did the towel trick it works but it went blank again
Pretty sure I took it off…
how about the hard drive?
I left every cable connected as I did the trick. Worked for me but only for 1/2 hr- Hr then it would go back to the no picture. Just went out and got a new Xbox eventually….
ok this same shits happening to me as i type this… i did the towel trick… wasted 40 min of my life cuz it didnt work… am i suppose to leave the av cabels unpluged? plz reply
Thank you so much I put it upright and it worked it hasn’t worked in 3 months thanks so much
my video doesnt work my sound doesnt work i have a disc error and RROD -.-
@brokenroses22 no its a short term fix. you might have to do it again at some point.
This does cause the xbox to create for bigger issues.
yea, i had the open disc tray error i was following the steps that Microsoft had to fix it, one said to start up the console without a hard drive in, and after i did that no more picture. and some extra info is that i have always used hdmi on the xbox and it has always stood upright
this happened to me two days ago i am poed i hope this works i really dont want to open this thing
@MrWrestleful nice guess it does work!
